What was the Pioneers of the Balkans competition

1. Roadshow & applications, August 2015

Following a call for applications and a roadshow through 14 cities in 8 countries of South-Eastern Europe, 584 teams from across the region applied

2. Training & preparation of semi-finalists

All accepted teams were offered comprehensive training resources in collaboration with Startup Live, the University of Texas at Austin and others

3. Semi-finals in Belgrade

In parallel to Belgrade Venture Forum on 12-14 November, all Semi-finalists pitched to interdisciplinary jury teams to secure their spot among only 50 finalists.

4. Finals in Zagreb

Hosted by Balkan Venture Forum on 3 & 4 December, the region‘s leading influencers, media and corporate representatives met the 50 best startups of this program as they pitched to more than 100 regional and international investors.
